What? A tooth?

That's right. Davis woke up this morning with a new tooth poking through his bottom gums. I can't believe it. I thought he had been fussy this week, and gnawing on everything in sight, but I just thought he was showing the first signs of teething and wouldn't actually get a tooth for months. Landon's first tooth was at six months, but he got four at once. Davis probably has his other bottom tooth on the way shortly, but it seems like the tops ones aren't that close. Yesterday, I got him this fun exersaucer as another of my Craigslist deals. Another great find! He sure loves it! Landon likes it too, and he likes to push the buttons to make music for Davis. I'm pretty sure Davis dances to the music. As soon as it turns on, he starts moving his feet up and down.

Family Pictures

Today, we went over to my friend Johanna's place to get some family pictures, and Landon and Davis's 3 year and 3 month old pictures. It actually went very well, despite my worst fears! Davis, although not too cooperative for the family shots, loved being in the spotlight by himself and smiled big for all of his pictures! Johanna put up a few of the pictures on her blog, so check them out! Thanks Johanna! We love them!

Talking and Laughing

Last weekend, I took a couple of videos of Davis. The first is of him "talking." He is quite loud, much louder than I remember Landon, but maybe that's because he has to be with his brother around! Unfortunately, he is loud at the beginning, but at the end, he is pretty quiet, so if you get bored, just turn it off! J

The second video is one of him laughing. He's been laughing for a few weeks now, and he definitely does it most for his dad! www.sjmalan.com/Video/Davislaughing.5_24_08.wmv

The funny thing is, our first video of Landon laughing is almost exactly the same – Shane is making him laugh, and Landon is wearing the same onesie! www.memorylanepreschool.com/video/laughing.wmv

Brothers

Landon loves his baby brother Davis! It seems like more and more every day, Landon wants to hold him, talk to him, and play with him. Davis loves his big brother too. He sits on the floor and cranes his neck to try to see Landon, following him all around the room with his eyes. Here are a few shots of the two of them over the past couple of weeks.

Landon and Davis's first bath together. Can you see Davis smiling at Landon?

(P.S. Does anyone want to hurl their computer across the room at times when working with blogger, especially when uploading pictures? There has seriously got to be an easier way! All the extra spaces, the pictures always put at the beginning so you have to move them no matter where you had your cursor, no way to rotate your images once they're in there . . . if anyone has some tips, PLEASE let me know!!!)

Memorial Day (A Little Late)

Our Memorial Day weekend was not the most exciting of weekends, but it was nonetheless nice to just relax and be at home with Shane. On Saturday, we watched our friend's Brycen and Lori's kids while they went to Brycen's graduation from law school. Landon and Austin had fun looking out the window at the birds and squirrels that are always in our yard.

The weather ended up being pretty nice on Saturday, and we went on a walk along the Fanno Creek Trail in the afternoon. It's the bike trail that Shane rides his bike on to get to work. There are several playgrounds along the way, and Landon had a great time playing on one of them.

Shane and I had an Indiana Jones marathon, and watched the old Indiana Jones movies. I had never seen them before, and Shane wanted to go and see the new one, so I thought I should catch up a little and watch them. I especially enjoyed the last one. It was a nice relaxing weekend! We hope you had a good weekend too!

Mother's Day and Camille's Farewell

As the previous post indicated, we went to Ashland this weekend for Mother's Day and Cam's talk in church. It was a great weekend. Saturday morning, before the birthday party, Shane, Camille and I went to play tennis at Helman School. This was my first time playing tennis in a LONG time, since I hadn't played since the fall before I got pregnant, so over a year and a half. We played one versus two, switching it up each game so we all played a singles game and a doubles game. We each kept track of our individual scores. I started out good, and before long, I was ahead me 2, Camille 1, Shane 0. Things took a wrong turn from there though, and I ended up losing me 3, Camille 5, Shane 6. I guess I need to get out and play more now! You can't beat the view from there though! You look straight up at Mount Ashland, the same view you see looking up my parents' street. Gorgeous!

Saturday evening, after celebrating Landon's birthday, we went to Lithia Park for a hot dog roast at our usual spot. What can beat Lithia Park? I wish we had a Lithia Park in Beaverton!!! We went to the "island" to roast hot dogs by the fire pit, and enjoyed listening to the creek as we pigged out on hot dogs, chips, and brownies. Yum!

Sunday was a wonderful Mother's Day. Shane gave me a nice card with Landon's and Davis's hand prints on it, and some nice coloring by Landon. He got me The Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd and some of my favorite peanut M&M's. At church, Camille gave a wonderful talk on the Christlike qualities necessary for missionary work and for motherhood. We had a great dinner of lasagna, green salad, french bread, and marionberry pie for dessert! Best of all, Shane let me take a nice long afternoon nap with no interruptions from baby or kids! What a great husband I have!

Here is a slide show with some more pictures of our weekend. (You can also move your mouse over the little person in the bottom left and click on the blue link to see the slideshow full screen.)

Happy Birthday Landon!

Today is Landon's 3rd birthday. I can't believe he is so old already!!! Friday night, we drove down to Ashland so we could be there for Camille's talk on Sunday and for Mother's Day. On Saturday, we celebrated Landon's birthday. Mom had macaroni and cheese for lunch (a Landon favorite) with Elmo plates and napkins. We then had cake and ice cream, and Landon opened all of his presents. He loved all of his gifts and was quite spoiled by both of his grandmas!
Davis even celebrated the day by rolling over! I put him on his stomach on the floor, walked away for a few seconds, and when I came back he was on his back. I asked Shane if he had turned him over but nope, Davis had done it himself. He even rolled over a few more times for us that day!
Here are a couple of pictures of Landon's fun day. I'll post some more later of his birthday and of our trip.
