Landon and James

Here are a few vides of Landon and James.  The first one I took of Landon with James at the first of January.  James is really into spitting lately, so Landon was doing it to him and he was laughing pretty good.

The second one is a video that Landon took of James.  I actually hadn’t watched it until today when posting this other one.  My favorite part is when Landon shows himself on the camera.  Not the best video skills, but still fun to watch!

Our New Park!

About a year ago, we heard that the open field(aka dog run) near our house was going to be made into a park.  At first, they were just going to put in soccer fields, but after a few community meetings, they decided to add a play structure.  We were excited at the news as the closest park to our house is about 1.5 miles away – walking distance, but a little far to go every day.  At the end of the summer, they began work and posted a completion date of the end of October.  As all construction projects go, the completion date was pushed back, and we would drive by almost every day to see how it was progressing.

Finally, the first of this month, the park opened.  It was quite chilly, but we headed over there one day and checked it out.  This week has been quite warm with no rain and temperatures in the mid 50’s, so we headed over there yesterday again, and this time I brought my camera.

Landon was a little nervous to walk across this at first, but after I helped him once, he was a pro.  You can see Davis in this picture too – yelling “Mom, come help me!”  Unfortunately, he can’t quite do it by himself.  His legs are too short. :)

After awhile, they decided to just run around a little too.    There’s nothing like nice new grass to run on!

I’m sure we’ll be spending many more days at the new park.  Can’t wait!

James is 6 months

James is six months old.  Actually, he was six months old two weeks ago, but I am just barely posting this.  The pictures were taken on January 8, so they are two weeks old too.

James is such a fun boy in our family.  His personality is showing through more and more every day.  He is getting faster at moving around the house as he pushes himself up to crawling position, then lunges forward.  He loves his food, and has been eating rice cereal, oatmeal, squash, applesauce, beans, pears, etc.  We have yet to find one he doesn’t like.  He takes three good naps every day, and has been hit and miss with sleeping at night.  He is getting better though.   He also has quite the voice, and if he feels he is being neglected, he belts out the loudest scream he can, turning red in the face, until someone notices him and pays attention to him.

He loves his big brothers, and they love him as much or more.  He always gives them both big smiles and is excited to see them and watch them in all their craziness!

Minute to Win It, Science Works, and New Years Eve

While we were there on our visit, my parents decided to buy a grandparents membership to the Science Works in Ashland.  My mom and dad took Landon and Davis a year and a half ago for the Grandma and Grandpa camp while we redid the kitchen, but hadn’t been again since then.  We all went along with them, and it was a pretty cool museum.  Some of the favorites were the bubbles, the ping pong balls in the tubes, and the bottle rocket.

That night, we decided to have a Minute to Win It competition.  Becky and I went to Walmart to stock up on a few supplies, and we used the Minute to Win It website to find some good competitions to do.  We also did a few from Shane’s Christmas party that were fun.  We all made fools of ourselves, but it was a lot of fun, and we were quite frequently laughing so hard we could hardly continue.

For New Years Eve, we went bowling in the morning, and then to lunch at Red Robin. The kids always have a fun time bowling.  I started out not so good, but then Landon was doing pretty good, so he let me rub his hands for good luck, and I ended up doing pretty good after that!  I’ll have to remember that for next time!  James had fun letting everyone hold him while we bowled, especially his Aunt Camille.DSC_0521DSC_0522IMG_0700IMG_0708

That night, we had fun eating all of our favorite appetizer foods for dinner, then played some Mario and Just Dance 2 on the Wii.  The dancing wasn’t quite as fun with Stacey gone (she had to work that night), but we got by okay since we had Nate’s mad dancing skills with us this time.  The kids had fun wearing their New Years gear before heading to bed, and it was quite entertaining as always trying to get them to all stand together for a picture!  Bennett wasn’t feeling good, so that made it even more difficult.
