Pumpkin Carving

Monday night, for Family Home Evening, we carved our pumpkin. I found a website where you could choose eyes, nose, and a mouth to create a pumpkin, then print out the stencil to make on your own pumpkin. Landon had fun choosing the face he wanted, then we helped him carve it out. When we asked him what his favorite candy was, he said, "I like all of them!"

Lee Farms Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went to the Lee Farms Pumpkin Patch with our friends. It was so much fun! They had a ton to do and see there, with all sorts of animals - piglets, chicks, chickens, bunnies, horses, turkeys, baby puppies, and calves. They also had a little caterpillar that Landon found at the very beginning, so we had to carry it around through the whole pumpkin patch. I finally remembered I had a little bowl with cheerios in it, so I dumped the cheerios and replaced them with the caterpillar. They had a fun hay maze and slide too. Landon was a little nervous at first, but once he figured out how to climb up into the slide, I couldn't get him off it! Overall, it was a great day! The only drawback was I had Davis in the Bjorn the whole time, and boy was my back tired when we got home!

TOFW

Last weekend, I went to Time Out for Women in Portland. My mom, dad, sister Becky, sister-in-law Stacey, niece Kallie, and aunt Karen all came out to go with me. It was so much fun! Dad and Shane stayed home and took care of Landon, Davis, and Kallie (same age as Davis) while went to the conference as well as did a little shopping. It was so much fun! The conference was great, although we did get a little Kenneth Coped out. I hope we can do it again!

Our New Fence

Previously, I posted about Shane's dad coming out to help us with our yard. I never posted the finished product of the fence!!! Shane took a day off work, and Kent and Shane did a lot of work to get the fence done. The last picture is of the finished product. It's so nice to have a little more room in our backyard!

Woof, Woof!

I like to joke that Davis is my little puppy. He usually is found crawling around with something in his mouth. Most of these were taken today - a tiger, a sock, a round toy, and a number 2. He usually has a small ball he likes to crawl around with too, but he didn't do that today.

(Yes, that is a BYU shirt he is wearing. Maybe it was bad luck to have he and Landon wear their BYU shirts today.)

Hard Workers

This weekend, we had the great privelege of having both my parents here (my dad had a conference), and Shane's dad. Shane's dad flew out here to give us our Christmas present - his hard labor in our yard! We have this HUGE side lot as part of our front yard because our house is the first on a cul-de-sac. The side yard has been ugly the entire time we've lived here (not helped by the fact that we never water it in the summer). Today, Kent and Shane rented a huge rototiller, bought new fence supplies, and got to work. They tilled up about half the mound to turn into an area with bushes, trees, and plants. A post in our fence had also broken, so we decided to extend our fence out a little bit to give us some more room in our backyard. Here are some pictures of them all hard at work!

Our Trip to Utah

We had a great time last week when we took a trip to Utah to visit Shane's family in Ogden and my brother and sister in Utah County. Shane went for a BYU recruiting trip, and we decided to just go a few days before and stay a few days after. We had a great time, going to Gardner Village, swimming, bowling, walking around BYU campus, visiting with Becky and Bethany (best hometown buddies), going to Deseret Book during conference (CRAZY!), and even a little Shane and I time going to dinner at Golden Corral (thanks Christie!). We even survived the 12 hour drive out there and back, and especially enjoyed a break on the way back to visit the Bairds. I wish I had taken pictures there!
