May was a busy month, with Landon’s birthday, Mother’s day, Memorial day, and Reach the Beach ride. We still did some other fun stuff despite all that.
Asher likes to drive his car backwards, wear dad’s (and anyone’s) shoes, and drink from the ranch bottle if anyone leaves the fridge open.
Lots of neighborhood fun! Owen, James and Ty, the neighborhood three-year-olds, got a fun wagon ride from Makenna and Luke, and later Asher and Carter got a ride. Asher likes to wear James’s helmet when he can find it lying around.
Asher likes to play with the cotton balls, help dad mow the lawn, and wants to be a big boy and ride the scooter.
We had a really warm day, and so our friend Dayl took us out to Magness Tree Farm to walk around and play in the stream. We loved it and will definitely be back!
James and his friend Owen like to play outside together, and Asher likes this little step by the hot tub to sit and eat his snacks.
We celebrated 17 of May (Norway’s Independence Day) by eating meatballs, having rice pudding for dessert, and we even hung up the Norwegian Flag that’s been sitting in our garage since we got married!
The boys played a quiet game of Book of Mormon Guess Who? one Sunday afternoon, I finally got the garden planted, and it’s been so warm that we even broke out the popsicles.
Shane worked from home most of one day so that I could go on Davis’s Kindergarten field trip to the zoo. I hadn’t volunteered at all in his classroom since we moved, so it was fun to meet his friends and see him with his class and teacher.
We love library story time and we walk there almost every Wednesday with our friends Carter and Ty. The tradition is now to get a donut at the donut shop that is conveniently attached to the library after we’re done, and a few times, when the weather’s especially nice, we’ve stopped and played at the park on our way home.
The boys especially like playing on the tire swing at the park on the way home from the library. James entertained himself by playing with the marble game while I worked, Asher napped, and Davis and Landon were at school. His friend Ty came over another morning and they had fun playing Elefun.
James recently learned how to skip, and he happily skips around all over the place. Unfortunately, he was skipping home from his friend Owen’s house and fell smack on the ground, hitting his lip and his forehead. Poor guy. Asher loves his big brothers, and they sure love him too! He and Landon were hanging out in their bedroom the other day.
