We started off the month right with super quick trip to Seattle for cousin Dallin’s baby blessing. We’re glad Camille and Bryce live close enough that we could go. James obviously wasn’t too thrilled with taking pictures.
The first Saturday in the month, we had fun going to the Mended Little Hearts kick-off party for Heart week. They had some lunch, some fun crafts for the kids, and the big hit was a magician. The kids thought it was pretty fun and were really into the whole show. Both Landon and James were chosen to be “assistants” in the show. We took some video of James while he was up there.
We enjoyed some free frozen yogurt at Menchie’s on Frozen Yogurt Day, and it was time for another RSV shot for Asher, so we had to get ice cream after to keep up with tradition.
Landon has been playing his first year of basketball. He’s not too experienced, but he is having a lot of fun and likes to play. His team’s name is Rip City.
Shane made a quick trip to BYU for some recruiting, and he got this picture with Cosmo to send to the boys. Meanwhile, we made lots of Valentine’s for the school Valentine parties. Somehow I never got a picture of Landon’s! His were superhero ones with a cape and mask taped on a blow pop, and said “Have a super Valentine’s Day”. Davis’s said, “You make my heart bounce,” and James’s said, “I am Wheely glad we’re friends.” Thanks to pinterest for all the ideas.
We didn’t have too exciting of celebrations for Valentine’s Day, but we did have heart pancakes for breakfast, and I made this heart fruit pizza for dessert. Unfortunately, James had an accident on the trampoline when he crawled between Shane’s legs when Shane didn’t see him. Shane tripped on him and stepped on his wrist. We ended up in urgent care for some x-rays with one sad James. He didn’t break anything, but he did have a bad sprain that kept him from moving his wrist for a week.
We did a home improvement project (well, Shane did) and replaced our old white ceiling fan with a new ceiling fan with a light. It was quite the project with our high, slanted ceilings. We borrowed three different ladders before we finally found one that worked! It’s a good thing he had James as an assistant to help him know what to do.
I have quite the helpers around the house. James always likes to help cook, and Asher helps unload the dishwasher. Asher also has liked playing with the playdough Grandma Morris sent him for Valentine’s Day.
February was the driest on record, so we had lots of time to play outside. These chalk drawings lasted for quite awhile before the rain washed them away. The park near our house got a new play structure, and it has been quite the hit with the kids. I’m sure we will be spending a lot more time there.
We’ve been excited to see so many signs of spring around our house!
The boys have some good after school discussions while eating their snacks. Asher always has fun with his buddy Carter, and James and Asher have fun playing learning games together on the ipad.
Finally, we ended the month with a Blue and Gold celebration at pack meeting. We were a little sad that Shane couldn’t be there though since he used to be the Cub Master. He will probably miss a lot more now that he has Young Men’s the same night.
