Another lost tooth

On Friday, Landon lost his fourth tooth, but his first one on the top.  It had been loose for awhile, so we were glad he finally got it out!

Another shot of his tooth when on the couch Sunday with Davis

James got three shots on Friday at his 18 month checkup, so he has been a bit feverish, tired, and fussy the past two days.  On Saturday, we went to Kelly’s house for lunch, and James put his head on Kelly’s shoulder and didn’t want to go to anyone else.  He is becoming quite a fan of Uncle Kelly!  On Sunday, when Kelly came over, James perked right up and went to pay with Kelly, taking Kelly’s hat and trying it on.  The first picture is him laughing and looking at Kelly.

Bathroom Remodel Finished . . Enfin!

Tonight I have relieved to say that Shane and I have officially completed our bathroom remodel (as of last night).  It always seems that we have these home improvement ideas that sound so simple, and then are of course much more work than the original plan!  The bathroom desperately needed remodeling though – with stained almost-white linoleum, yellowed-white walls, and an old, cheap vanity with a chipped, repainted, re-chipped sink.  I couldn’t find any before pictures, but many of you have been to our house and now what it looked like.  I painted, measured the tile, wiped up the grout, and figured out the vanity installation.  Shane prepped the floor, cut and laid the tile, put the grout in, installed the vanity and mirror, reinstalled the toilets,  and redid the baseboards.  We had a few glitches along the way, but the worst one was when the pipes from our wall came out directly into a support board that divided our vanity drawers from the cupboard.  After much measuring and maneuvering by me, and some skillful jigsaw work by Shane, we got it to work.

Here are some pictures of the finished product:

Scarf Party

Friday night, we had a girl’s night at a friend’s house.  The theme was a scarf party, and we each brought a scarf to exchange in white-elephant style.  We had some delicious savory and sweet crepes, an entertaining scarf exchange, and some great conversation!

Let it snow!–January 15

Sunday morning, we woke up to a light dusting of snow on the ground, and some more flakes coming down.  The boys were so excited, so before getting dressed for church, they went in the backyard and played in the snowflakes for a minute.

By the time we left for church though, the snow had stopped and we thought that was all we would get.  Lucky for us, it started snowing again, and although it left maybe an inch on the ground, it was enough to make a snowman (thanks to Shane rolling the snowball around the entire backyard to get all of the snow so there would be enough!)

By this point, Davis’s feet were wet and cold, and he wanted to go inside.  This was the best smile he could make for me.
