Happy Mother’s Day!

I was royally spoiled this year on Mother’s Day, with a delicious breakfast by Shane, complete with fresh flowers and homemade cards from all of my boys.  Shane didn’t have morning meetings, so he was there to clean up from breakfast and help get the boys dressed for church.  He even packed them a lunch so I wouldn’t have to make them one when I got home since he would have to stay for some meetings after!  The boys all gave me the best present ever – a long afternoon nap after church.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner, and had fun visiting with both of our moms on webcam.

Every mother’s day, I am overwhelmed by how blessed I am to have an amazing mom, mother-in-law, and grandmas who have paved the way for me.  I also can’t believe how lucky I am to be a mother of three amazing boys, and to have one amazing husband to help me along the way!  Here are a few more pictures of my sweet boys from a photo shoot with them a few weeks ago.  (Landon’s individual pictures are in the previous post).  Davis’s pictures hadn’t turned out good before, so I took a few of him in our backyard on Sunday.

Landon–Age 7

It seems like each child has such a unique and special place in my heart, and Landon is no different.  He is such a kind, loving, amazing boy and I am amazed every day at all he is learning and doing.  He is a great big brother, and he always includes Davis, even when his friends are over to play.  He is a good helper and always wants to do what is right, and makes sure his brothers do what’s right too, especially that they are keeping the rules!  :)  He is silly and has always loves to laugh and tell jokes.  He also still loves to give hugs, and he always makes sure we have a family “sandwich” hug every night before going to bed.  He is still a reader, and I can’t seem to keep enough books in the house for him to read.  He also likes to draw pictures, usually just with a pencil, and frequently of cartoon-type characters and stunts.  I took these pictures of him a couple of weeks ago, and I love the ones of him laughing, since they really seem to capture his personality (and his big gaping hole where his two front teeth are missing!)  He is one handsome 7-year-old, in my opinion!

Landon’s #7 Birthday–Part II

At 3:07, after Landon’s baseball game, Landon invited 7 friends over for his birthday party.  We played 7 games that all had something to do with 7, drank 7-up, and had a cake with the #7 on it.  It was a fun time!

The kids had fun playing the games and being silly with each other.  Shane and Cody took all of the pictures while I helped to run the games.

After all of the games ended, we headed inside for some cake, ice cream, and 7-up.  We then opened up Landon’s presents.  Two different guests brought him a bag full of seven presents!  He thought that was a fun idea!

After the festivities ended, we ate a dinner of hot dogs, Cheetos, and macaroni and cheese, some of Landon’s favorite foods (and super healthy too :)  After dinner, the boys wanted to go out to ride the scooter.  I had actually bought Davis one the same time I got Landon’s because they were such a good deal, but was going to wait until a little after Landon’s birthday to give Davis his.  Davis was so sad watching Landon ride his, and kept asking for a turn, so I finally whispered to Landon that I had another one but was going to wait to give it to Davis, but he said to just give it to him now.  They had lots of fun riding their scooters around the cul de sac!  (I had to throw in a shot of James running around too)

It ended up as a great birthday!  The weather was perfect, we had great friends and family over, and it was fun to celebrate his special day.

Happy #7 Landon! Part I

Landon turned 7 this Saturday, and to celebrate, he wanted a birthday party with all things 7.  We started the day with his favorite breakfast of crepes with strawberries and whipped cream.  Kelly came over for breakfast, and we had a mini party opening his presents from mom and dad, grandmas and grandpas, and from Kelly.  He got some fun gifts – shorts, legos, 7-11 gift card, and Finn Color changing race track from Grandma and Grandpa Morris, money and a fun piggy bank for tithing, fun money, and mission fund from Grandma and Grandpa Malan, a kit from Kelly to grow fish that date back to the dinosaur ages (currently in eggs in the tank waiting to hatch), and a razor scooter from Mom and Dad.

After enjoying the toys for a little bit, we headed to McDonalds for lunch, per Landon’s request, then he had a baseball game.  I stayed home to get things ready for Landon’s party, but Shane got a few pictures of him playing.  His favorite positions are 3rd base and catcher right now, so Shane got a few pictures of him at third base.  Last game, someone brought gatorade for the snack.  Landon had never tried it before, so he wanted me to get him some to drink during this game.  It was probably good because this was definitely the hottest weather he’s had for a game so far!
