For Easter this year, although we couldn’t make it to visit family or have family come to visit, we were glad Kelly lives close so we could have family over anyway! The boys woke up Easter morning and looked in their Easter baskets and found the eggs the Easter bunny had hid in the living room. We had a delicious breakfast of sticky buns and boiled eggs, and I was even able to take a couple of pictures before our 9 a.m. church. I knew Shane wouldn’t come home with us after church, and there was no way I could keep the boys clean and in their church clothes for when he would be home, so I was glad we got one in before.
James woke up first, and he headed straight to his basket and started eating a piece of candy. He was also excited to see some squinkies in his basket!
James was also excited to find a pair of sunglasses in his Easter bag from my mom. (The cute bags with their names on them were from my Mom). He kept putting them on, then putting them up on his head.
The other two boys joined James not too much later, and they were excited to find their candy, squinkies, Finn McMissile submarine cars, and their hexbugs. You can tell from the picture below that Landon was the last to wake up, as he still looks a little sleepy in this picture!
The Egg Hunt:
None of the family pictures turned out too great, but I thought they would be fun to include anyway. It’s hard to get everyone looking at the same time, especially with the timer!
For Easter dinner, we had our friends the Lovelands over. We had some great food – ham, potatoes, rolls, asparagus, deviled eggs, fruit salad, and some delicious strawberry shortcake for dessert. The kids had tons of fun playing together, and the weather was so warm we even opened up some of the windows. It was a great Easter!
