Houses Squished with Becky's

As I said in our previous post, we spent the last few days at Becky's house to be there to see cute baby Bennett and for his blessing. It was great to see my sister as a mom, and so fun to have a day or two to hang out together. Landon enjoyed it too, as can be seen in this conversation we had after a day or two there:
"Mom, how come our house is so far from Becky's? I want our house to be closer."
"Me too Landon. That would be fun."
"Yeah, I want our houses to be right by each other, just squished together. Then we can just share my yard and Becky's yard, and we can play with Becky all the time."
When we were getting ready to leave, he asked me when we were going to move our house so they could be squished together.

What a dream that would be! Maybe someday! :)

Here are some pictures of Landon and Davis first meeting Bennett:

Becky has a little playground right by her townhome. It was FREEZING cold most of the time we were there, but one afternoon it was nice, so we went out to play there. I think this playground may have been part of the reason Landon wanted to live closer to Becky. :)

On Sunday was Bennett's blessing. Here are some pictures of the family, and all of us at Becky's house after the blessing.

Isn't Bennett so cute? We had fun taking turns holding him, even though, as Landon said, all he pretty much does is sleep. Who doesn't love to hold a cute, slipping baby?

The cute new family - yes, Becky looks disgustingly great for just having a baby. :) I try not be be jealous though!

The cousins:

Thanks for letting us stay with you and crash your house, and for letting us drive out with you Mom and Dad! It was a great trip!

Visiting Treehouse Museum

This last week, we had the chance to go to Utah with my parents to see Becky's new baby. We of course couldn't pass up a visit to Grandma and Grandpa Malan's! Christie and Kent made a great family dinner the first night we were there, and got everyone together so we could visit with them. The next morning, they took Landon and Davis to the Treehouse museum while I did some work on the computer at their house. They enjoyed the Treehouse museum as always. We just wish we could have stayed longer! Can't wait to see you again in June!

This last picture is of Landon with his two second cousins, Max and Joe. Carli, Shane's cousin's wife, was nice enough to stop by with her two boys so we could see and visit with them. Too bad we can't be around more so they can play together! (Davis was already napping by the time we took this picture.)

The Week in Pictures

Here are just a few miscellaneous pictures of us over the past week or so. The first one is of Landon in his bed at night. Many nights, an hour or so after he has "gone to bed," we will find him in his room reading books. I just had to take a picture the other night to remember it!
Last Sunday, we had just gotten home from church, and we were in all the kitchen making Sunday dinner - well, all except for Davis. A few minutes later, he came walking in with Shane's tie around his neck, grinning from ear to ear like he was the coolest kid around. Of course, by the time I got the camera out, he wanted it off, so this was the best shot I could get.

Many of you know that Shane got a nice new Yamaha Vino to ride to and from work, so I have a mode of transportation once again! (Yipee!). Landon wanted to try on Shane's helmet in this picture. The other one is of the boys playing with the clothes hamper.

And finally, here's a picture of Davis with his favorite little dog, that he can't sleep without! He now will point to different dogs and say "da," which I guess is dog?

Wicked!

Last week, Shane and I went to Wicked at the Keller Auditorium in Portland. I had heard that it was amazing, but I didn't know how amazing until I was there and saw it. The singing, the set, the songs, the story, the actors . . . all of it made it the best musical I have ever seen! We bought our tickets back in December, and they were the cheapest seats they had, but they weren't too bad, in the main part of the theater, and we could see the stage really well. I'm so glad we went! If you ever get the chance, you should definitely go!

Enjoying the Outdoors

This past week, we had some nice days, so we spent some time outside riding cars and playing in the driveway. We also walked up to one of my favorite parks. It is a bit of a walk (about 1/2 hour uphill) but the park has a great view of Mt. Hood and the area, and it has some fun playground toys!

At the Park - Davis liked climbing up the slide more than coming down.

Landon and Rocket going down the slide together.

I love to swing!

The Week in Pictures

I thought I'd post just a few pictures of our week. In posting them, I realized none of them have Landon in them! I'll have to make sure to get some of him too this next week! Davis has really been into the dishwasher for quite awhile now, but here are some of him "helping" me.

Davis was really funny with this blanket this week. He would find it and carry it around, lay it on the floor somewhere and lie on top of it like he was going to sleep, then he'd pick it up and take it somewhere else.

The first picture here is of Davis watching Little Einsteins, a Landon favorite. He was pretty into it this time, and even started patting along! He is catching on quick! The next picture is of Davis trying to put on the headphones I use while I'm working. He thinks he's pretty funny when he puts them on.
In this last picture, Davis is mad because he wants the camera! :)
