We had our annual Morris family coast trip the second week in August this year. Dave and Liz joined us a day later, and Nate couldn’t make it because he had a culminating presentation to finish up his internship at Amazon. We missed having him there! For the first time in many years, we all stayed in tents (no yurts), and we all did surprisingly well. We drove down to Ashland Tuesday evening, and then we left Wednesday afternoon to drive over to the coast. When we got there, Grandma handed out goodie bags to all the kids. They were excited to see all the fun things inside, including a Paris shirt for each of them.
I love James’s face when he saw his Paris shirt! Not sure what expression that is!
Each goodie bag always has a book. Davis was excited for his Mater’s Birthday Surprise book, and James loved his Monster Truck one!
After getting our tents set up and eating some yummy taco soup for dinner, we headed down to the beach to see the sunset. The kids had been anxiously asking since we first arrived when we could go to the ocean, so they were excited when it was finally time to go. The sunset was beautiful as always! The kids of course couldn’t be convinced to stay up above, so we all ended up walking down on the sand a little bit also. They were so excited to see the ocean and the waves! Luckily, we were successful in keeping them all dry and out of the water – at least for that evening.
Yay! We love the beach!
