Happy 4th!

For our 4th of July celebration, we invited our friends over for a BBQ.  We had good friends, good company, and a great time overall.  I made Mom’s flag cake, which I haven’t made since I made it for Shane the first 4th we had together when we were dating and it got ruined by a dust storm up Provo Canyon.   Luckily it turned out a little better this time!

The kids had fun playing in the backyard, and about every five minutes, one or the other of them would ask when we were going to set off fireworks.  :)  We finally started with some pops and sparklers at dusk, and that got us through until dark.  Our neighbors on both sides were setting off huge fireworks as well, so that added to our show also.

IMG_4820 IMG_4823 All the kids watched the fireworks on this great blanket Grandma and Grandpa Landon made for Shane and I when we graduated.  It fit the 4th of July theme great!  They were all full of energy and quite excited.

We had a great time!  Now we just have the baby to look forward to in a couple of days!

Newport – Part 2

One night, we had the kids watch a movie while we played some games. It worked pretty good for about 45 minutes, then before long, we had all the kids sitting on our laps wanting to participate in the game too! We played Cranium, boys against girls, and I must say we girls dominated! It was nice for a change since whenever we have played with the Morris clan the last few times, the girls have had HORRIBLE luck and lost every time. I told Wendi and Christie that I wanted to recruit them to join the Morris girl team next time we play. :)

IMG_4790This picture was taken at the beginning when they were all still watching the movie. :)

We tried a different beach a little farther north later in the week. The water wasn’t as far out, but we had to walk over a bunch of rocks to get to it. The weather was sunnier that day, but it was also a little bit more windy.

Davis went down to the water too, but he and Landon ran into each other and he fell over in the water. We changed his shirt, but he decided to play in the “HUGE sand box” for awhile before trying out the water again.

We eventually dragged Landon out of the water when his teeth were chattering and his lips were blue, so he played in the sand for a little bit too.

(Unfortunately, that is all the pictures I have of our trip! Kent and Christie lost their camera somewhere. We hope they can find it! I shouldn’t just count on getting other people’s pictures though! I am always spoiled by Stacey when she’s around, and Becky too, because they take so many great pictures, so I have to remind myself when they’re not there to take pictures too!)

We had a great time and loved every minute of our trip! Landon cried when Grandma and Grandpa left, and he can’t wait to see them again! Thanks Kent and Christie for a wonderful vacation!!!

Newport – Part 1

Last week, we went to Newport, Oregon for the entire week with Shane’s family. We had such a great time going to the beach, exploring the tide pools, watching Toy Story 3 (although Landon did get a little scared of the crazy monkey), playing games, going to the aquarium, and just being together. Mark and Melanie couldn’t make it because Melanie had their baby boy Ames on Monday. We missed them but were excited to see pictures of their cute little baby!

One of their favorite things was just playing at the beach. I could hardly get the boys out of the water.

Alexys seemed to like being in the water the most with Landon and Davis. I think Laci was too cold, and Keither liked exploring and finding rocks and seashells. These three were usually playing in the water together though!

This video is of Davis playing with Grandpa in the waves. He thought it was so much fun!

The Rose Gardens

My sister Camille and some of her friends came up to Portland for a quick trip for a wedding. They stayed with us for one night, and we went downtown for lunch and stopped at the rose gardens. I didn’t get to see her too much because we were leaving the next day to go to Newport for the week with Shane’s family, but it was fun to see her for a few hours at least!

IMG_4758 IMG_4759 IMG_4761 IMG_4762 Davis didn’t quite get how to smell the flowers. He would get really close, then blow on them as hard as he could.

I really did not want to post this one of me 8 1/2 months pregnant, but oh well. Cam looks so cute I thought I should put it on there and at least document we were there together.

Silly Landon and Playing Baseball

These pictures are from a couple weeks ago. Landon was being silly and putting on his helmet, goggles, and swim ring. He thought it was pretty funny.

And below is some video of Davis and Landon playing baseball in the backyard.

Memorial Day Weekend – Part 2

I am finally posting part 2 of our Memorial Day weekend!

DSC_4261 DSC_4259 DSC_4264 Landon has been really into the trampoline the last few times we’ve gone down to Ashland.  This time, he would jump with this ball and try to bounce it off.

DSC_4250 DSC_4258 DSC_4266 Kallie liked to watch Landon jump, and she (and whatever other unlucky soul was out there) go the fun job of ball retriever when Landon succeeded in bouncing it off the trampoline.

Before Memorial Day, Dad got a couple racks of ribs from someone, so Saturday and Sunday Dad, Shane and Jake worked on preparing us some ribs, while Mom prepared the rest (including a yummy strawberry pie!)

DSC_4280 DSC_4270DSC_4289 We were all just cracking up at Jake and Shane.  Jake looked over at Shane and saw him trying to pour some juice and drink it without wiping his hands off so he could keep eating the ribs and was laughing and making fun of him – then five seconds later Jake was doing the same thing!  I’m glad they enjoyed their spoils after all their work on the ribs!  :)

After dinner, we needed to go walk some of it off, so we enjoyed a nice Sunday walk through Lithia Park.

MONDAY:

Monday, the boys headed to Helman School to play some tennis, and we walked over with the kids and played on the playground.  Landon went over first with Shane, Dad, and Jake, so he played a little tennis with the “off” player.

Finally, here' are a few miscellaneous pictures from the weekend that I forgot to put in the right spot.  :)

IMG_4728 IMG_4731 Landon was excited to hold Ethan, and was so cute with him.  Kallie and Davis wanted to get in on the action too and started peeking over the couch at the two of them.
