We arrived back in Utah Friday, and had to leave early Sunday morning. We relaxed around the house Friday afternoon, and the kids enjoyed playing out in the yard.
Friday night, we went to Rovali’s in downtown Ogden to hear Shane’s brother Mark play. He plays the guitar and sings there a couple nights a month. It was fun to hear Mark sing live again, and to enjoy some good food while doing it. We wish we could see him sing more often!
Saturday morning, we met up with some of Shane’s friends and cousins at Mount Ogden park. We loved going to that park when we lived in our little brick house above Harrison, and it was fun to go back. The kids found a little area under some bushes that they called their house, and they played in there for quite awhile, even pretending to brush their teeth with small tree branches. Shane stopped by his Grandma Brewer’s to visit with her on the way home.
That evening, Mark and Melanie came over and we all had dinner outside. Kent and Christie have the most gorgeous yard, with an amazing view of the valley. It is always so relaxing to be out there. My cousin Rachel stopped by on her way home to Logan. I hadn’t been able to visit with her in years, and our kids had fun playing together once they warmed up to each other.
Ames and Liam crawled under this little picnic table and said they were an ice cream store. They served up ice cream to the kids when they came over to order.
We hadn’t been able to cook our smores at the cabin because of the thunderstorm, so Kent turned on the grill and the kids all got to make smores after dinner.
We are always sad to see our Utah trips come to a close. We wish the drive wasn’t so long and gas so expensive, but we’re so glad we can make it when we do!

So fun that night! Rachiel is a delight to talk to, and her children were as well. It just took them a few minutes to feel safe around so many unfamiliar faces! And, smores taste pretty good comin off a grill! Nothing like a real fire though to eat those gooey things!
