Tulip Festival

Every year since we first moved here, we have made the trip to Woodburn to go to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in the spring.  It is one of my favorite spring activities!  We went this year on a Tuesday afternoon with our friends from Beaverton.  They have four boys all about the same ages as our boys, plus a girl that is the oldest, so there were lots of friends to play with.  It was a little cloudy, but still warm and not too busy.

We started out with the usual ducky races.  Even Asher liked getting down and putting his hands in the water while watching the ducks float by.

They also had fun playing in the straw, trying out the swings, and going down the big slide.

The picture with all the boys in the shoe didn’t work out so well!  :)  Asher was not too happy when it was over.

After enjoying the activities for awhile, we walked over to the tulips fields.  Wow.  The pictures just don’t capture how amazing they are.

They had a nice bridge this year you could climb up on and see the tulips from a little bit above.  The kids liked looking at the tulips from there.  Our attempt to get a picture with all the kids in it was quite hilarious.  This is the best we could get.

I could only keep Asher in the Baby Bjorn for so long.  When I finally let him out, he was so excited to go up by the tulips.  He walked up and touched one, and the petals fell right off.  He spent the next few minutes trying to put the petals back on the tulip.  He just pointed at the tulips and jabbered away to me, so excited to see them up close.
