August Happenings

By August, we finally felt like we were done with surgeries and had a chance to actually enjoy summer.  We did some fun things around here to celebrate before summer came to an end.

Shane’s Birthday:

We had celebrated a little bit in Seattle, but Shane’s birthday happened to also be the last day our good friends the Lovelands were in town visiting from Utah.  We invited some friends, took some dinner out to Camp Rivendale, talked and played, and of course enjoyed some cake to celebrate.

Big Truck Day:

We went to the annual Big Truck day at the Conestoga Rec Center.  James has been talking about it ever since!

Murase Plaza:

We try to make it here a few times every summer. We only made it once this year, but we had a great time!

The boys always like to try out the big slide before we go to the fountains.

Landon brought a little rubber duck to the park, and it would sit and spin on top of the fountains.  The kids thought it was pretty cool. (Below, left)

Swimming Lessons:

The three boys had swimming lessons every Tuesday and Thursday all month long.  James cried through his entire first two lessons, but then he got to really love it.  The only day I brought my camera was the last day, when they put on life jackets and play different games, so I didn’t get any of them swimming.  The picture on the left has James getting in the water in the bottom corner, and the picture on the right has Landon kicking on the big mat.

Just Hanging Out:

We also did lots of just relaxing and hanging out!  (Actually, Shane and I did a lot of work getting the house ready to sell while the boys had fun).

Asher became quite mobile, getting himself stuck in all sorts of places.  Davis had Kindergarten Academy, a week of Kindergarten introduction.  He drew the picture below of “scrl” (school), all the kids at recess, the bell ringing, and the teacher saying, “Time to go inside!”

The boys learned a living room sleepover after reading enough books, and James likes to help me make breakfast.
