James’s New Activity

Lately, James has found a new way to play with his activity table.  Instead of using it to stand by and play with the buttons and sounds, he prefers to push it all over the house like a walker.  He is amazingly good at maneuvering it around corners, and turning it back around when it runs into something!  I took a couple videos of him playing with it the other day.  The second one had to be cut short when he was about to push my purse through Davis’s spilled milk.

Meanwhile, Landon and Davis’s new favorite thing is to hang out together in Landon’s bed before going to sleep.  Every night, Davis asks if he can go in Landon’s bed “for just five minutes.”  Here are a few pictures of the silly boys:

   

Last weekend, we also finally were home and had nice enough weather to put together the sandbox that Santa gave us for Christmas.  It is a nice, big sandbox perfect for a house with three boys!  Landon and Davis have loved it so far.  On a side note, Davis was excited to wear shorts for the first time this season, and told me as I put them on, “Look Mom!  My legs are all stretched out!” 

   

And finally, for Family Home Evening on Monday, Davis was in charge of activity.  He wanted to play Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games.  He is so funny when he plays; I just had to take a video of it!

Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Pictures

When we got home from church Easter Sunday, Stacey took some nice pictures of the boys in their Easter clothes.  Of course, they had already changed their shoes, but you get the general idea.  Thank you Stacey for the great pictures!!!

Kallie wasn’t too thrilled about getting her pictures at first.  She was cold and wanted her sweater, and was much happier when she got it on! 

 

As you can see even in the picture above, we had some smarties that didn’t fit in the Easter eggs, so Stacey threw them out on the ground.  Ethan went right up to them and sat there the whole time, chewing on the smarties.  He was pretty content!

 

Grandma Malan sent us 100 Easter eggs she had filled with candy.  What work!  It was so nice to have the eggs all ready to go, and the kids had so much fun finding them where Jake, Kelly, and Shane had hidden them.  Thanks for the eggs Christie!

               

Jake hid an egg in the end of the clothes line.  Landon had fun figuring out how to get it out of there, and hitting it with a bat until it fell.

After finding all of the eggs, we came inside and had a delicious dinner of ham, cheesy potatoes, rolls, and deviled.  Then, Jake and Stacey had to pack up and go.  It was a fun weekend!

 

Kallie was a good helper putting the paprika on the eggs, and I read some books to the kids while Jake and Stacey got everything loaded in their car.

Easter Morning

Easter morning, the kids woke up nice and early despite their late bedtime.  The Easter Bunny had come and hid the dyed Easter eggs, so the kids looked for those and then looked at their Easter baskets.  Stacey had put out some sticky buns the night before, so we enjoyed those and some boiled eggs for breakfast before heading to church.  It was nice to have Shane home in the morning!

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Saturday night before Easter, after returning from our marathon day of running, Deseret book, t-ball, the tulip festival, and even shopping at the Woodburn outlets, we knew we still needed to dye the eggs!  We got home late and ate dinner (thanks Jake!), so it was about 9:30 p.m. by the time we started the eggs.  We put the two little ones to bed, but the other three stayed up and dyed some eggs.  Stacey had directions for egg dye using food coloring, so we tried that out instead of a store- bought package and it seemed to work good.  The kids had so much fun, and the adults had fun doing one or two themselves too.
