New Year’s Day & the Rest of our Trip

For New Year’s Day, we decided to go bowling.  We lucked out and the bowling alley had dollar games and shoes, so we bowled one round on our own, then a second round in a couples “team” where we would each bowl half of a frame.  The kids had fun with their bowling too, although they got a little antsy toward the end and kept running up to the game room to play while they waited between turns.

Bryce is already an expert at getting the babies to sleep!  James and Ethan knew right what to do with the shooting game:

That night, we went over to the church to play some games, including kick ball and dodge ball.  The kids had fun getting out of the house and running around!

That night, Becky was the story reader, and James and Ryan had fun posing in their matching pajamas.

The next day, we had a nice, relaxing day.  Mom and Becky took all the kids to Scienceworks, where they had fun making bubbles and playing with all of the neat toys like they normally do.  (Thanks to Mom and Becky for taking great pictures while they were there!)

Eating breakfast before leaving, and Landon playing with the magnets:

It was then time to pack up and head home.  It was a fun trip and fun to be together!  We just missed having Dave and Liz with us!

New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve was a fun day.  We started it off with a surprise trip from our husbands . . . to get pedicures!  The girls had a nice time relaxing in the massage chairs while we were pampered.  We then met up with everyone for some lunch at Red Robin.

That night, to start the party off, Mom had a pinata, which was a huge hit with the kids.  Last year, we had a dance party in the dark with glow sticks. The boys had so much fun with it, that we decided to repeat it this year with all the cousins. We danced the night away to the top dance hits of 2012.  The kids especially liked it when we made a big circle, and they got to take turns being in the center and dancing.  Mom had her usual array of delicious snacks, which was just right after our huge Red Robin lunch.

After the kids went to bed, Dad and Mom had some entertaining Minute-to-Win-It games for us to play.  We had a great time competing, and some pretty funny moments.  We ended the night by watching the ball drop and celebrating with some sparkling cider and, of course, New Year’s kisses.

Cookie eating: (Shane was the pro at this)
