New Year’s Eve was a fun day. We started it off with a surprise trip from our husbands . . . to get pedicures! The girls had a nice time relaxing in the massage chairs while we were pampered. We then met up with everyone for some lunch at Red Robin.
That night, to start the party off, Mom had a pinata, which was a huge hit with the kids. Last year, we had a dance party in the dark with glow sticks. The boys had so much fun with it, that we decided to repeat it this year with all the cousins. We danced the night away to the top dance hits of 2012. The kids especially liked it when we made a big circle, and they got to take turns being in the center and dancing. Mom had her usual array of delicious snacks, which was just right after our huge Red Robin lunch.
All lined up for the pinata, and cheering the others on:
The dancing and glow sticks:
A little before-bed running with Uncle Jake:
And stories with Grandma:
After the kids went to bed, Dad and Mom had some entertaining Minute-to-Win-It games for us to play. We had a great time competing, and some pretty funny moments. We ended the night by watching the ball drop and celebrating with some sparkling cider and, of course, New Year’s kisses.
Cookie eating: (Shane was the pro at this)
Marshmallow toss:
A couple of ornament games:
And a golf-ball snowman:
Can’t remember if the instructions were to look drunk, crazy, or what in this last one:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
