Memorial Day Weekend – Part 1

For Memorial Day weekend, we headed down to Ashland for the three-day weekend.  Jake and Stacey met us there from California.  We had a lot of fun relaxing together.  The best was watching Landon, Davis, and Kallie all play together.  It was pretty entertaining!  Shane, Jake, and Dad had fun golfing and playing tennis while Stacey and I did our usual trip to Earth Friendly Kids, where they were having a sale, which was a nice extra surprise! 

      I loved these cute pictures of Kallie and Davis.  Kallie was watching Little Einsteins on Stacey’s Iphone, Davis came and sat by her.  Notice how at first, she’s showing him what it is, then they scoot in closer to watch it, then Davis is putting his hand up so she’s not too close, and finally, Kallie almost laying on Davis as they watch the movie together. 

        

Saturday night, we went to Lithia Park to play some horseshoes, and then to have a traditional hot dog roast on the “island.”  Stacey got some great pictures of the kids all sitting together – it’s so great to have her along with her great pictures she takes!!!  Davis felt that he needed to hold up his stick in almost every picture Stace took of him.  :)  The kids especially love sitting in their little chairs together!  And of course, I had to include some pictures of cute baby Ethan happily asleep in his bjorn as Jake carried him around.

Our Utah Trip (Much Belated)

At the end of April, we made a trip to Utah to visit Shane’s family, get together with some high schools friends, and meet Dave’s girlfriend (now fiancee). Shortly thereafter, I accidently switched cameras with my mom, so I didn’t have the pictures from the trip to post to our blog. I’ve had them back for a a couple weeks now, but I just haven’t had the chance to get caught up on posting them yet! I wanted to post some of our favorite pictures from the trip.

Landon and Davis had fun playing with their cousin Bennett. We stayed a Becky’s for one night during our trip.

Landon and especially Davis loved having Emma around. We kept finding Davis watching Emma in her cage and just laughing out of the blue at her.

Christie had prepared a great family dinner decorated in Toy Story for Landon’s birthday. Landon was so excited for all the fun Toy Story decorations, and he especially loved his Buzz that Grandma and Grandpa got for him. It was a lot of fun to all be together and celebrate Landon’s birthday.

We went bowling at Fat Cats the next night we were in Ogden. Landon and Davis both LOVE bowling! They were jumping up and down, dancing to the music, and having a great time. Davis would push his ball down and then point and yell “That way!” He liked to carry his own ball over to the ramp too, which would make me a little nervous, but he survived. The last picture is of my best-ever bowling score. A 7-month-pregnant-bowling-ball-stomach makes you better at bowling? Who knew?

Davis loves to play “Woo, woo!” with Shane. Shane holds Davis up and moves him up and down in the air, and then he has to give Shane a kiss to get another ride. He had fun showing his game to everyone.

And finally, some more miscellaneous pictures from our visit – Mark and Melanie reading stories, Davis and Landon with their dad and grandpa, and a great picture with Grandma Malan! It was a great trip, and we can’t wait to go back again!

Congratulations Dave and Liz!!!

I have many blog posts to catch up on, but I wanted to post tonight that on Monday, my brother David got engaged to his girlfriend Liz! We are so excited to have Liz become a part of our family! (And we're excited that someone would agree to marry Dave :) They are getting married in August in the San Diego Temple, so in addition to the excitement of their wedding, we have a nice trip to southern California to look forward to.

Happy Birthday Landon!

I am almost a week late in posting this, but last week was Landon’s 5th birthday.  He has been very excited for weeks for his birthday.  On his actual birthday, we had pancakes for breakfast, macaroni and cheese for lunch, and we went to Spaghetti Factory for dinner (where he had macaroni and cheese again).  He was especially excited when they brought him rainbow ice cream with a candle in it and everyone around us in the restaurant sang happy birthday to him. 

Saturday, we had a birthday party with a couple of friends from church and preschool.  It was a Buzz Lightyear party, and I think the favorite was setting off the rockets (film canisters with alka-seltzer and water in them – thanks Mom!).  Overall, everything went well, although I was glad when it was all over!
