We headed down to Ashland for New Year’s weekend. Jake and Stacey, Camille and Bryce, and their families met us there. We had a great relaxing time there together, filled with lots of the usual activities.
We spent one morning at Science Works, and the kids had fun making huge bubbles and trying out all of the other activities. (Landon wasn’t feeling good and so he stayed home.)
The kids also all went bowling one day. Landon was still not feeling well, so I stayed home with him and Madeleine and worked on some tests while the others went bowling.
New Year’s Day, we headed to the church for a little dodgeball. Pretty soon, we’re going to have to stop playing with our left hands against the kids. The are getting pretty good!
Later that evening, we had our traditional feast of appetizers and snacks for New Year’s dinner. It was delicious as always! The kids had fun playing together, and then we had our glow-stick dance party. It’s always fun to see the kids and all their dance moves. The kids then watched the ball drop in New York before heading to bed. The adults stayed up and played some games until the real midnight hit.
Sunday, New Year’s Day, we had church, and then relaxed and played some games before heading home early the next morning. It was a great trip as always, and it’s always fun to spend New Year’s with family.
