We were all overjoyed for Kelly and Jessa’s wedding. It was a long year and a half from the time they were engaged until Jessa was able to come to the United States. Kent and Christie spent countless hours preparing their yard for the wedding. The flower and plants were amazing! The day was a bit windy and cloudy, so we held off on putting some of the decorations up, but we spent the day getting ready for the wedding and setting up as much of the reception as we could.
Jessa looked beautiful, and we all hardly recognized Kelly in his tux (just kidding). The wedding was just the immediate family, and it was a beautiful ceremony performed by Bishop Schroeder. Kelly and Jessa shared beautiful vows with each other. They are a great couple and we are so happy for them!
Unfortunately, right as the ceremony started, the wind really picked up, and by the time the ceremony ended, the sky was filled with dark, ominous clouds. I tried to hurry and catch a few pictures of the happy newlyweds, but within moments we saw and heard lightning and thunder and hurried in the house moments before a downpour!
We hoped at first that it would be a quick rain and then stop, but after a little bit we realized that it wasn’t going to stop. We made a quick exodus, frantically grabbing everything to take to the church. Shane and Keither had one of the most difficult jobs of transporting the cake that had been carefully assembled at the house. Luckily they made it without any damage to the cake!
We snuck outside just before the sun set and after the rain stopped for just a few more pictures.
We are so happy to have Jessa in our family now. She loves Kelly, and she loves our kids like he loves them. They are a great team! We are so glad we could be there for their special day.
