For Memorial Day, since Asher was feeling well, we decided to make a quick trip to Ashland before his next surgery. We left Friday after Davis’s preschool finished and got to Ashland in time for a hot dog roast in the park.
The next day was Jake’s birthday. He wanted to start his celebrations with a bike ride. The weather was perfect, and they rode out to Jacksonville and back.
Meanwhile, the kids had a ton of fun jumping on Grandma and Grandpa’s new trampoline. They spent almost the whole day out there!
After trying out the trampoline, the kids decided to also try out the new hot tub.
The next birthday request of Jacob’s was to play some tennis. We played a little over at Helman School while the kids rode around on their scooters and playing on the playground.
We headed back to the house for a birthday dinner, followed by some delicious apple pie in a bag and coconut cream pie.
Sunday we had a nice day going to church and relaxing at home. The kids sat on the trampoline to color for awhile. They just wanted to do anything on the trampoline! We also went for a walk that evening, and James had fun riding with “Maggo” in the wagon.
We left just after lunch on Monday, but we did have some time for one more dip in the hot tub! Meanwhile, Asher relaxed on grandma’s floor, staring at his fists, his new favorite past time.
It was a great trip, and nice to be able to relax and enjoy some time together, especially since this will probably be our last travel time for awhile with Asher’s surgery and recovery coming so soon!
