Christmas

Christmas this year was a wonderful, relaxing day.  The boys were excited to open all of their gifts, and we enjoyed spending the day with Shane’s parents and with Kelly.  The boys were spoiled as always, as were we!

The stockings:

Headlamps!  Landon has been asking for this Lego headlamp for Christmas since the summer.  Davis and James loved their Cars headlamps too.  (You can’t tell so much in this picture of James, but he really does like it)

I made the boys some animals masks this year for one of their gifts:

Some excited faces!  James was especially good at these.  He made this face with every gift he opened.

James’s favorite gift to play with Christmas day was his new train.  It is battery powered, so he loved setting up the track and watching it go!  He also liked seeing how many train cars he could attach to it.  He spent most of his day playing with the train.

Landon and Davis had fun with their Lego sets from Santa.  Davis’s was a 3-in-1 that had two planes and a boat; Landon’s was a satellite launch pad.  You can see Landon’s headlamp was still a favorite gift!

We also had fun trying out our new games.  Here, we’re playing Robot Uno, but we also tried out our Lego Creationary game and our Cars Monopoly game – all big hits!

I took these pictures a few days later, but here is each of the boys with their Christmas gifts, minus their gifts from the Morris side of the family. (Those pictures to come later)

Christmas Eve and my Birthday

The Saturday before Christmas, Shane’s parents flew in from Utah to celebrate the Christmas week with us.  Saturday, they did some Christmas shopping, and we had fun hanging out and playing games.  Sunday, we had a great day at church and enjoyed going to see the lights at Peacock Lane that night.

For my birthday, Shane got up and made some delicious crepes with strawberries and whipped cream for breakfast while I slept in.  Breakfast was delicious, and then I got to open my presents.  James especially liked hiding in my footrest from Kent and Christie.  Two of my best presents were some coupon books from Davis and Landon, including even one from Davis that said, “Not to bother you.”

Eating breakfast, and opening my coupon books:

After I finished opening my presents, we went bowling and then to lunch at Panera.  Yum!   While we were at Panera, Landon came up to me and said, “Mom, how come no one looks excited?  It’s Christmas Eve!”

That evening, we had a delicious Christmas Eve dinner, and then we acted out the nativity.  My mom had sent us an early Christmas gift of some beautiful costumes to wear when acting out the nativity.  They were perfect!

Here we are all dressed up (Kelly was the narrator):  Shane and I were Joseph and Mary, Christie was the angel, Kent was a shepherd, and the boys were the wise men.

We got ready for bed, and Shane did a good job hiding all of our books in the living room so that we had a challenge to find them.  The boys were super excited to go to bed so that Santa could come!
