Morris Family Coast Trip–Day 3 {August 10}

Friday, the day started out very similar to Thursday.  We had a foggy morning, so we hung out at the campsite and did the Grandma store again with the pennies.  The kids went to the playground with Grandma and Grandpa to help pass the time.  Once the fog burnt off, we headed down to the beach for another gorgeous day!

All the young kids (2 and under) were good and fell asleep for a little bit while down at the beach, except for little Ryan!  Becky tried to rest a little, but Ryan just sat and jumped on her back, so she wasn’t too successful!  Some of the other adults were more successful.  Jake had a nice nap on the football helmet until a surprise wave all of a sudden came up and drenched him!

Back at the campground, we cleaned up, and then the kids had fun running all around and chasing each other.  After the kids went to bed, the adults played a quite hilarious version of the newlywed game.  There may have been a few disagreements between spouses, but it was fun to play and learn more about each other.

Morris Family Coast Trip–Day 2 {August 9}

On Thursday, the morning started out a little foggy, so we hung around the campsite for awhile until the sun came out.  My mom had a fun “store” set up for the grandkids.  She hid pennies around the campsite, and then they could buy different things at the store with their money.  The kids loved it, and it was fun to see how they chose what they would get.

Ethan had fun filling up cups of water to give to everyone while were waiting around that morning.

While we were hanging out and buying things in the store, the boys went on a 50 mile bike ride up the coast to Gold Beach and back.  They originally had plans to maybe drive to the coast from Grants Pass, but we were glad they decided to have this plan instead since the road to the coast had some pretty non-existent shoulders at parts.

After the boys got back from the ride and the sun burned off the fog, we headed down to the beach for the afternoon/evening. The weather was perfect – sunny, warm, and not windy!

Baby Maggie was not even three months old.  She was so good the whole time, usually quite content with whoever was holding her!  I love the picture of her sound asleep sucking her little thumb while Stacey was holding her in the Born.

We brought stuff down for hot dogs for dinner, and Dave and Liz joined us just as we were about to eat. The kids moved over to playing in the little stream of water. Davis said they were “putting the sand so the water would be safe.” Not sure exactly what that means, but they were all grabbing handfuls of sand and throwing it in a pile.
