James’s birthday falls last in a line of birthdays for our boys, starting with Davis’s in February, then Asher’s in March and Landon’s in May. By the time his birthday comes around in July, he has been talking about it for almost six months, going back and forth on what he wants for a party and for presents. Just a week before his birthday, he decided on a Wild Kratts birthday party, so I hurried and went with that before he changed his mind to the next thing. :)
We celebrated his birthday during the week with our family at home, opening his Oregon shirt, Ninja Turtle Legos, and other presents here at our house and eating chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting after singing him happy birthday.
That Saturday, he had his friends over for his Wild Kratts party. I made each of the boys these creature power suits, and they were a hit. They were pretty easy to make and our boys kept wanting to wear them around even before the party.

We played different games with their creature power discs.
Cheetah Creature Power – They had to run and try to grab each other’s tail.
Platypus Creature Power – They had to carry the platypus eggs across the yard to the “nest.”
Giraffe Creature Power - They had to strain their long necks to reach the hanging donut.
Peregrine Falcon Creature Power – They made paper airplanes and threw them to see how far they would go.
Butterfly Creature Power – We wrapped them in a toilet-paper cocoon, and they had to burst their way out.
We ended the celebration with some creature-power birthday cake and ice cream. The party was a hit!
Happy Birthday James!
