After our day at Lagoon, we were pretty worn out on Wednesday. Christie and I did take the kids to the Kangaroo house, where they have a ton of bounce houses and slides to play on. It was nice and air conditioned, and the kids had a great time burning energy.
That night, Christie put together a fun early birthday party for James, complete with balloons and a Ninja Turtle birthday cake.
James was excited for his new basketball, frisbees, and Ninja Turtles puzzle!
The next day, we went to visit Grandma Brewer. It is always fun to see her and her bubbly personality. Just after we left her place, Shane’s Uncle Kip and Aunt Maryanne came over to visit. They had just returned from their time with Kip serving as mission president for three years in Port Villa, Vanuatu day before. It was so great to see them after so long!
Grandma Brewer always loves to visit with her grandkids, even though she doesn’t remember exactly who everyone is anymore. She had fun visiting with Shane, and Kelly showed her pictures of his fiancee, Jessa.
We spent a lot of the week just trying to keep cool in the hot weather. More than once, we found the kids outside, soaking wet, and spraying each other with the hose. They also had fun with the sidewalk chalk game Christie organized for them. Cousin time is the best!
One evening, Kent and Christie even treated us to some delicious Hawaiian shaved ice. Yum!
