Easter Weekend–Tulip Festival

For Easter weekend, Jacob and Stacey drove up to visit.  It was a short trip since they arrived late Friday night and left Sunday evening, so we tried to cram in a lot of activities!  First thing Saturday, Stacey agreed to go running with me for my training, then Jake and Shane went to buy Jake a new road bike while Stacey and I braved Deseret Book with all five kids to buy a few Easter items, after which we headed straight over to Landon’s t-ball game.  It was a fun but busy morning!

After we finished up at Landon’s t-ball game, we headed down to the tulip festival in Woodburn.  Jake and Stacey had heard how we had gone a few weeks ago, and they wanted to see it too.  It was super busy this time since it was on a Saturday and BEAUTIFUL weather.

We started out by walking through the tulips.  The cousins were all enjoying being together running up and down the rows, smelling the flowers, and of course posing for hundreds of pictures.  They of course got lots of comments from the passers-by.  (Thank you Stacey for all the great pictures that you took!)

Ethan was excited to be able to get down and walk.  He’s a cutie!

A family shot – not sure what Davis is doing, but this was the best we got.

After a nice walk through the tulips, we headed over to the kid area, where the boys got to enjoy the big slide, the duck racing, the yellow shoes, and the photo spots once again.

April Around the House

Since I got a little behind on April, I am just going to post a few pictures of some other things we did this month.

Looks like we need to put our latches back on the cupboards.  James is having a great time getting into everything!

James also likes to play with cars.  He pretty much likes anything that he can push along the floor with him – a car, the dustbuster, the laundry basket, a plate, etc.  Here is a short video of him playing with some cars.  He even makes a car noise sometimes, but he wouldn’t do it for this video:

Davis always loves to help vacuum with the Dustbuster.  If only he could clean up the plates James throws all over the floor with this!

Here is a picture of James smiling where you can see his three bottom teeth.  He has had four on top and three on the bottom since January, and we have loved his crooked little smile.  His fourth tooth on the bottom came in this week, so we’re saying goodbye to this little smile.

The three boys up to something in their room – I’m not sure what they were doing in this picture, but James likes to follow them around to see what they’re doing.

I made apple pie in a bag for our church fundraiser, and Landon was a great helper and peeled and cut all the apples for me!  He usually snuck a few for him (see first picture) but there were still plenty for the pie.

We all love having Uncle Kelly live nearby, especially when he comes over to Sunday dinners.  The boys are all over him the entire time he is here, making him exhausted when he goes home I’m sure!  Luckily he still agrees to come over!

Just last week, I got an email from my Aunt Adele that she and my Uncle Travis would be here for a work training for a day.  We were so excited to see them since we don’t get to see them very often.  We had fun visiting with them after her training finished last Thursday evening.   We took them to Sushi Hana, and then stopped at Cheesecake Factory for a dessert to bring home.  Sushi Hana is a fun sushi place near our house where the sushi and other plates come by on a conveyor belt, and you pick off the ones that you want to try. The boys especially loved it and kept wanting to grab different plates that came by on the conveyor belt.

We didn’t capture any pictures of the dinner that night, but here’s one of Adele and Travis with Davis, and one of Adele and I before I drove them to the airport last Friday.  We hope we’ll get to see them more as Travis got some good leads on bringing some of his business up here to the Portland area!
